Pikes Peak Bible Institute's History
Pikes Peak Bible Institute began in 2003 as a training ministry utilizing Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary's Contextualized Leadership Development program. After holding classes for a year, the leadership of PPBI desired to move the school toward an accredited program with which students could work toward a degree. At the time, the best choice was to become part of Seminary Extension, which is a educational program developed by the seminaries of the Southern Baptist Convention. While this was a step in the right direction, it still fell short of the leaderships goal of an accredited degree program. In 2005, the leadership began a partnership with Oklahoma Baptist University's Ministry Training Institute. PPBI has been holding OBU MTI classes since that time. It is the leadership's desire to develop this program into a fully accredited undergraduate school in which students can complete an entire degree through PPBI.

Colorado is filled with people of every ethnic and cultural background under heaven. The good news of Jesus Christ must be presented in a meaningful way to each cultural group. Those trained to ministry in this diverse cultural setting will need to be uniquely equipped to lead in their varied contexts. Equipping leaders to minister to these people is at the heart of Pikes Peak Bible Institute.
